About Platte City, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Platte City’s history dates back to 1843 when the creation of a dam on the Platte River brought new settlers to the area. Located in Platte County, nearly 5,000 people currently call the community home. The first public school in the city was established in 1868, and today the community is served by the Platte County R-3 School District. The district operates three elementary schools and two middle schools, and older students will complete their secondary education at Platte County High School. While there aren’t any colleges found directly within Platte City, there are plenty of higher educational opportunities located in nearby Kansas City.
There are many places to visit in Platte City that help to enrich the lives of residents. The city operates several parks, including Cox, Harrel Ferrel, and Riverview Parks. There are many local restaurants such as Bee Creek Café and Bakery, El Maguey Mexican, and LC’s Hamburgers Etc. Bargain shoppers might also like to visit the Hillcrest Thrift Shop or WD Pickers Antique Mall.
Platte City is situated within the northern peripheries of a humid subtropical climate zone. The region experiences four distinct seasons, with hot and humid weather accompanying the summer. Temperatures average in the 90s during July – the hottest month of the year – so many residents invest in central air conditioning systems to stay cool. These units offer better security and efficiency than older window A/C units.
Gas and electric furnaces are the preferred heating system in Platte City, as not only will they warm a space, but the right system will also help to purify and dehumidify indoor circulating air. Considering that average daily highs in January stay in the 30s, these systems are highly important. Snowfall varies from year to year, but on average, the community sees about 13 inches per season. Freezing temperatures are a greater concern, and the right climate control will help residents to stay comfortable.
